Luke's 4th Birthday

My baby will be 4 on Tuesday. These 4 years have flown as I have said before. We had his birthday party last Sunday and everyone had a blast. We went to Bounce U and I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults.
Noah even got in on the fun and rode down the slide. He LOVED it. We couldn't get a picture since apparently my camera doesn't like taking action shots. Even though there is a setting for it, but whatever. It was a sight to see, and then he just wanted to keep sliding.
Birthday boy had an awesome time, as soon as we left he was asking when we were going back. He doesn't know it yet, but we are taking him back on his birthday to play for a while. Our little man got to be king for a day and I think he enjoyed every second of it.

Who needs snow when you can have ice? We got a lot of ice this week, but who knew it could be so much fun. When I got home from work Monday afternoon, I got out the sleds and took Lucas and Nolan ice sledding down the driveway. I don't know why I have never thought to get out the sleds for ice, we went all the way down the driveway, across the street into the neighbors yard. I think Noah would have loved it too, but it was way too cold for the baby to be out.
I am hoping to get back on here before the holidays, but it is crazy busy around here now. I am finishing up some shopping today and also need to do cookies and clean the house before christmas. Hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas.

Tis the season ....

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like Christmas is creeping up to quick. Where has this year gone? Noah is 10 months old as of yesterday and Lucas will be 4 on the 23rd. Time flies when you're having fun. Jake has gotten a lot of the Christmas shopping done for me this week and we should be finished tomorrow, hopefully. All that will be left are a few things for the boys, which Jake and my sister go out and get Christmas eve. That is their tradition to go out the day before and get their shopping done. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Thursday night we went to my nephew Nolan's Christmas pageant at school. (He is in the middle with the white sweater and blue stripes) Quite the little angel. They sang about a dozen Christmas songs and then got to see Santa and eat cookies.
Cutting this short since little one is getting up now.

Sickness be gone

It feels like the sickness in this house will not leave. First it was Lucas with his flu bug, we are still getting over that. He just needs to loose the cough. Then Noah ran a fever for 6 days and started in on the coughing and runny nose. I got Noah to the doctor yesterday and he has a mild ear infection in the right ear and he is on breathing treatments with a nebulizer every 4 hours. This is to help with his wheezing from all the congestion he has that has moved into his chest. Poor baby, but I have to say he has been a trooper. He is feeling a lot better today since the medicines are beginning to work. The wheezing is not as noticable today. His ear is still bothering him a bit, I can tell when he is drinking his bottle. And I think the poor boy is teething again. I don't see any signs of any yet, but he is chewing on his thumbs all the time.
Lucas has been a little jealous for the last week with Noah getting most of the attention. So today I took him out and we got his birthday invitations and wrote them out for all of his friends. He wrote the names on the cards to hand out which was very cute. He had all the right letters, just not writing them from left to right yet. Just put them where they will fit. Funny how far they come in just a year. He is writing all of his letters now and knows upper and most lower case by sight. I can't believe it is going to be 4 years in a few weeks. Cherish every day you have with your kids is all I can say, it goes by way to quick.

Tree Decorating

After a day of Thanksgiving feasts Lucas came up with the idea of getting the tree out and getting it decorated. It was great fun having Lucas and Nolan decorate the tree. Most of the ornaments are at the bottom, but they had such fun decorating. Hopefully the weather will be nicer this weekend and we will get our outdoor lights up too.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did despite everyone being sick. But I think we are all almost done with that. Looking forward to a great month of fun and festivities and Noah's first Christmas. I am excited for his first experience with tearing apart the wrapping paper. Nothing better than ripping apart paper and then playing in the box.

9 months

So... I have been a bad blogger again. I don't know where this month has gone. Noah is 9 months old now and Lucas is going to be 4 next month. Noah had his 9 month checkup yesterday and he is 19 lbs which puts him in the 21st percentile. Lucas at this time was almost 25lbs.He is doing fine, we just have to really keep him lathered with vasoline for the winter months with his exzema.
He is cruising along now, walking while holding onto the furniture and push toys. Won't be long before he is letting go and walking on his own. He also discovered the stairs this week. He is really getting around and checking everything out that he can.
Nolan is spending the evening with us tonight and they are playing the Wii. I thought it was quite funny to find them both sitting in this storage tub.

And for the Arkansas family, Noah finally fits in the Razorback shirt. Jake dresses him in this at least once a week. He will need a new one shortly though, he has almost outgrown this one.
Everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween

Another Halloween has come and gone. Lucas was Scooby Doo and Noah was a frog. The frog costume has now been worn by Nolan, Lucas and Noah each at their first Halloween.

Noah and Sean's first Halloween. Getting babies at this age to sit still for a picture is next to impossible.

That evening we went out to Jeff and Kim's to trick or treat. Here we have Scooby Doo, Nolan the pirate, frog, Grace as Hermione from Harry Potter, and Ruth as Hannah Montana. Elvis slid into the pic too, don't know where he came from.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!! We did.

Pumpkin patch

Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch with Jeff, Kim, Grace, Ruth and Nolan. Fun times until the boys got cranky, tired, and hungry. They all got their pumpkins to be carved and had a good time just running around playing. After the pumpkin patch we all went to lunch and had a very interesting time. I spilled a half a carton of Noah's puffs all over the floor that the waitress had to vacuum up, endless soda spills, not getting all of our food, etc. It's always a good time when the kids outnumber the adults.
Nolan, Ruth, Grace, Lucas and Noah
On Monday I met Sam, Susan, Tracy, Scotty, Jennifer and Brett at the pumpkin patch again for pictures with all the babies. Sean, Shelby and Noah are now 8 months old. This year has really flown by when I look at everything the babies are doing now. Sean's newest trick is giving five. Now Lucas wants Noah to lean how to do it. He is working with him.

Noah, Sean, Hailey, Shelby

Susan, Tracy and I all had our babies within 5 days of each other by the same doctor. Talk about planning. I don't think we could do that again if we tried.

Happy Birthday to Nolan

NOLAN IS 5!!!

Sunday we went to my nephew Nolan's 5th birthday at Bounce U. We all had a great time, even Noah joined in on the fun in one of the bounce houses.

Jake and I on the big slide with Lucas.
I don't know who had more fun on this slide, the kids or the adults.

Nolan and his birthday party friends.

Noah really enjoyed this part of the day since he got to partake in the cake, which he loved!!

Noah is working on two new teeth on the bottom. I just saw them a few minutes ago when I was changing his diaper.Poor thing, he has been quite cranky for about a week now and biting on his fingers but I never saw anything. Now it is confirmed that more are coming in. At this rate, he will have all of his teeth by one. Total after these two new ones will be 8. Four on top, four on bottom.

Fun Times

Here is the finished haunted house that Lucas, Jake and I made. This is the first haunted house that we have done, we usually make a ginger bread house at christmas. Guess we have a new tradition for Halloween now. Lucas loves decorating them. He asked for a week when we were going decorate the house, but we were waiting for all of us to be together. That sometimes takes a while.

Noah's first ride in his swing. He absolutely loved it as you can probably see from the smile on his face. He laughed almost the whole time.

Apple Picking

Sunday we had a great day apple picking at Eckert's. We went with Jeff, Kim, Grace and Ruth. It was such a great day to go, and we had such a good time compared to last year. Last year they had such a bad freeze that they lost a lot of their apples. So when we went to go out picking, they had just crates of apples that we got to choose our apples from.

The apples are delicious, and hopefully this week I will make a pie with all the apples we came home with. Lucas didn't want to stop picking them so we have quite a few. On the way home we got to ride the ferry across the river. We didn't get to use it on the way there because it had been closed because of all the flooding. We were all so happy we got to ride it back home since it is so much fun. (And it takes about an hour off of the drive time)

Noah was very interested in the leaves on the trees. Didn't know what to think of them. He didn't get to pick any apples off the tree this year, but I am sure he will be doing that next year with a little help. This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. I love the look on babies faces seeing and feeling something new.
I hope everyone gets to experience apple picking with their kids. It is so much fun and there are such good memories for both you and your kids.
Next on the list is going to the pumpkin patch. I do love this time of year, keeps us busy in the Bailey house.

Grant's Farm

Last weekend we went to Grant's Farm with Sam, Susan and Sean. Good times except for the highly aggressive goats. Lucas was not too thrilled with them when they started attacking him for the bottle. He spent most of the time having Jake holding him. It was a great day to visit, just got hotter than expected. The free beer helped with that though.

Very tired babies after the long day.

We got Noah, Sean and Hailey together again for an updated picture. Here the boys are 7 months and Hailey is 5 months. How quickly they grow.
They are all looking at Susan who is trying to get them all to smile, and Sean to not roll over.

Crazy Busy

On the go as always. I can't seem to get the blogging done as much as I want to anymore.

Noah is 7 months old today. Time sure does fly. He has 4 teeth, two on top, two on bottom. He is sitting up quite well now. He was slouched over all the time leaning on his hands to keep himself up, but yesterday he seemed to sit up better without needing to lean. And he is crawling, or pulling, himself around the floor now. Time flies!!

Lucas had Howellapalooza on Wednesday for his school. They had games, arts and crafts, bounce houses, fire trucks, etc. Something for all ages from Pre-K to highschool. He had such a good time. We were there from about 5pm - 7:30 getting everything done that he could do. He did not want to leave, but he was beat after having school that day and then going to play. He was out in like 5 minutes. Here he is in the firetruck they had for the kids to climb around in.

Growing up

Noah has started to crawl around on his belly officially on Saturday. If he sees a toy or his bink that he wants he will get to it. He will pull with his arms and push a little with his feet. Now that he is mobile Lucas is not liking Noah getting into his toys and is having a little problem sharing at times. Noah is growing up so fast and will be 7 months old this week. Where has the year gone?

Kids say the darndest things

I picked Lucas up from school today and asked him how his day was. He told me that they went outside and it was too hot for him. It was 85, but whatever. If the sun is out he thinks it is hot. He then proceeds to tell me that his teacher Ms. Beth was not at school today because she had to go to the Dr. And finishes the sentence with " it's OK, she's not going to die"
HUH??? Where did that come from? I asked him if he knew what it meant to die and he said no. I tried to explain it to him, but by this time there was a firetruck and his attention had been redirected. Some of the things he says just crack me up, I don't know where they come from.

Big Helper

Lucas feeding Noah for the first time.
He is being such a good big brother, helping all of the time.

Fun times

Lucas and I went bowling with the Fugate's this week which was lots of fun. The new Brunswick lanes is pretty awesome. If you get bumpers for the kids they come up when it is the kids' turn and then go down for the adults instead of having to get 2 lanes. It is also non smoking which is nice. I always hated taking Lucas in to bowl with all the smoke.

I think Noah is teething again and not liking it too much this time. The first time didn't seem to bother him too much. This time he is a bit cranky. He is trying to crawl around pushing with his feet and scooting. Luckily he isn't getting too far yet. He gets tired pretty quick doing it. Loads of fun though, Lucas is beginning to like to play with him. He will bring him toys to play with, he has become quite a little helper here lately. Noah enjoys the interaction also, he just watches everything Lucas does.

Busy Days

Susan was nice enough to get the boys a Big brother, Little brother shirt for the boys. Lucas was so excited that he and Noah had matching shirts. I didn't get one with both of the boys, Lucas was done with pictures, so he took one of Noah and me. He wants to take pictures when he can now. And not with his camera, our camera so we will keep them and put them on the computer.

We have been spending a lot of time at the Fugate's swimming this summer. Both Lucas and Noah enjoy the pool. I love the fact that they like to swim and are not afraid of the water since I am such a fish and will take any chance I can get to go swimming. Lucas is jumping into the water now with his life jacket and going under. He keeps getting braver every day that we go out there. He was just using arm floaties a few times, but I think trusts his life jacket a little more.

Last but not least Noah is on solid food now and is going well. He has so far had cereal and green beans. Some days he likes them, other days he just doesn't know what to think. He has to do each for a week since he was having the allergies with the formula, we don't want to take a chance and be allergic to something else and not know what it is.
