Soccer

Lucas had his first soccer game yesterday and it was an awesome day for it. Everyone came out to see him play; Grandmom, Granddad, Nolan, June and Bob.

It was very exciting that he is finally starting sports. We just have to work on not pushing when someone has the ball and he is trying to take it from them. But for his first time playing he is doing great.

Here comes Spring

The last two days have been gorgeous here. Yesterday it was in the low 80's. It is suppose to be warm today also, but with rain. I just hope the rain holds off until tonight, both of the boys are loving being outside playing.
Yesterday we went to the park with Susan and Sean. The babies had a great time. I have to say it is difficult keeping an eye on 2 kids over one.

Lucas was a big help though, he took the boys down the slide and helped push Noah on the swings. He just wanted to be on the bigger playground, which I can't blame him. It had the bigger slides and much more for him to do.

Noah just explored everything, crawling through the tunnels, climbing on everything and mostly trying to crawl up the slides. Which he did finally accomplish on one of them. It was a small one, but he still made it up. I was surprised.
Hopefully spring will be here soon, the last couple days have been great. The boys get out, run off energy and are ready for bed when it is time.

Sunny Days

Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL outside. Windows open and loving the weather. I couldn't get them out for a walk though, the day before we did and I think it was too much on my knee. So we stayed in and played. Susan was nice enough to take Lucas to and from school since I can't drive yet so Sean came over and played for most of the afternoon.
Once Jake got home the boys got to go outside and play on the jungle gym. Noah absolutely loves the slide. He is going to be my little stunt man, this boy has no fear. It is a little scary. Here Lucas is trying the monkey bars with dad. We are also working on getting Lucas to pump his legs to swing by himself. Jake tried to show him how to pump his legs, but just as Lucas is all the time, he got very frustrated and did not want to continue. For some reason he thinks he should know how to do things on the first time every time. Today is suppose to be nice again except there will be rain. We are so ready for spring.
  • I had my knee surgery last Thursday and all is going well. I was up and walking on Friday, slowly but surely. I didn't believe the doctor when he said some are up walking without crutches. I sure did not think that would be me. But each day gets easier than the day before. I get to go to the doctor today for my checkup. I have not taken the bandage off since I got home because they do that in the office. So I will be seeing the damage for the first time today. I am hoping to start physical therapy as soon as possible. The doctor said he likes patient's to use a stationary bike for PT so that means I will be able to make it back to the gym soon, which I am so excited about. I am hoping I won't have to wear the brace anymore that they gave me in the hospital. It goes from my hip to my ankle and is very uncomfortable. I am walking a little throughout the day without it so I think I would be fine, but we will see.

Noah's 1st Birthday

Feb 12th our baby turned one. How quickly this last year has gone. Noah is getting around very well walking and he takes more in that I give him credit for. Last night I had left a dirty diaper on the floor and I saw him go over to it, pick it up and take it to the trashcan. I was shocked and then clapped and told him good boy and all that good stuff a mom does. You know , it's the little things.
We had his birthday party on Sunday with family and a few friends. He got tons of toys and had a great time with the cake. He also had to be hosed down in the bathtub.

And on another note, Lucas will be starting soccer in the next month. Jake just went on Sunday to a meeting letting us know all of the things we need to get started. I think I am more excited than anyone. I love that he gets to start sports now. Hopefully my knee will heal quickly and I will get to help out. I will post pictures as soon as it starts.

Busy, Busy

I'm sure I will only have a minute since it is close to bedtime. This weekend we were on the go as always. Saturday we all went to Dave and Buster's for our cousin Brayden's 7th birthday. Lucas and Nolan had a blast and of course didn't want to leave. But we did come home and they roasted hot dogs and marshmellows out back with Jake and Sam.

Sunday we went to Sean's baptism at their church and then back to Susan's parent's for lunch. Here is a goofy picture of Lucas and Sean playing tug of war with a teething ring. Yesterday we had temperatures in the 70's so all afternoon we were outside playing. Mostly blowing bubbles and drawing with chalk. We went for a walk, but I came back hurting and couldn't do much after except take pictures.

Snow Day

We finally got enough snow to get out and and enjoy all of it. Sledding, snowballs and angels. Noah loved his first sled ride. Not too big on all the layers since he couldn't move too much.

Noah's first steps!!!

All night Noah has been doing a few steps, we got up to 8 earlier but my camera was not ready. (Dead batteries) Yes, I know I should know better but I did catch some of the steps on video. I don't know why the picture is a little out of focus either, I will get a better video later. As you will see, he is done for the night with walking. Enjoy !
